You may have noticed a new face (or new little faces) on our social media recently! You’re right to ask… our team has grown! And like every mom wishes, we’ve been granted an extra set of hands – we’re so excited to welcome Taylor Woyton to the North Houston Moms’ team!
We want to go all the places and do all the things in order to share them with YOU, but sometimes there’s just not enough hours in the day.
Being born and raised in The Woodlands, Taylor and her husband are now raising their two littles in the same place she grew up.
The Woodlands born and raised, we love that. You are such an asset to our team! Tell us a bit more about yourself:
Yes, I’ve lived here my entire life, aside from college (Texas Tech!). My husband and I have two kids, a four-year-old and a 16-month-old. We love to be outside, especially when it’s not 100 degrees out! Exploring the nature trails in The Woodlands with my family is hands-down one of my favorite things to do. We’re big on leaf-peeping in the fall and finding any excuse to get fresh air and move.
Our mission here at North Houston Moms and The Local Moms Network is to give moms (and dads) the gift of time. What are some of your best time-saving tips/resources as a parent?
I’m all about planning ahead in small ways, like laying out clothes the night before, using grocery pickup and sticking to simple weekly routines that keep the whole family on track. I rely on shared calendars and reminders to stay organized and I’ve learned to outsource when I can and let go of the pressure to do it all. Time is a gift and I try to protect it for what matters most.
As hard as it is to find the time, what is something you do for just yourself?
Epson salt baths and facials if time allows it!
Okay, let’s chat some of your local North Houston favorites!
Favorite restaurant: Ohh, it’s a tie between Terra Vino and Perry’s Steakhouse
Favorite coffee place: Summer Moon
Favorite place to grab drinks: Sixty Vines
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?
I’d choose Iceland. Despite most of the film being shot in Greenland, ever since I watched The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, I’ve been fascinated by Iceland’s stunning landscapes, geothermal hot springs, clean energy efforts, and rich culture. It feels like the perfect mix of adventure and serenity. I’d love to spend at least two weeks there with my family, road-tripping thought the countryside, soaking in hot springs and experiencing the magic of the Northern Lights together!
Tell us something interesting about yourself that others may not know.
My husband and I were on The Price is Right at the very start of the pandemic – in fact, we were part of one of the last shows filmed before everything shut down. I’ve loved TPIR ever since the Bob Barker days, so being there in person (and seeing all the behind-the-scenes magic) was a total dream come true.
What’s the best advice you have ever been given? Or your best advice to other moms?
Take the trip. Time is fleeting, and the memories made while exploring together are worth everything. Whether it’s a big adventure or a simple weekend getaway, take the trip!
Thanks, Taylor! We are so happy to have you as part of the North Houston Moms team. If you have a spot you’re curious about and want us to check it out – Let us know! Be sure to follow along on Instagram to see all of our adventures around North Houston.
