Sarah first went to a JBF sale when she was pregnant with her oldest child and afterwards, she came home saying that should would run one of those sales one day – not really knowing if that would come true. Over the years, she bought most of her baby items from JBF sales and it was such a blessing for her family. So, when the local territory was opening up, she jumped on the opportunity and she is now hosting her 2nd sale in just 3 weeks!

Where are you from originally and how long have you lived in the North Houston area?
I was born in Anaheim, CA, but we moved to Spring, TX when I was 2. I have lived in the Spring/Woodlands area my whole life, and recently moved a little further north to Woodforest in Montgomery.
How many kiddos do you have and how old are they?
I have 4 kids – They are 7, 5, 4, and almost 2.
What are your favorite local things to do? (with kiddos or just for mom!)
My favorite local things to do are to find a restaurant where I can enjoy my meal and talk for an extended period of time while my kids play… I recently found a new one on the Lake – Lake Conroe House which is pretty amazing!
As hard as it is to find the time, what’s something you do just for yourself?
I am just not good at that balance, self care thing… never been my thing, but, I do love late night walks down the aisles of Target!
One thing people would be surprised to know about you…
I don’t watch TV or listen to music! I am kid of a loud person, yet don’t like the extra noise of TV and radios.
What’s the best mom advice you have ever been given (or your own advice to mamas out there)?
A friend told me not to be a slave to a schedule, and I have really embraced that. If we want to go do something fun and it messes with naps, we just wing it! We say yes to fun A LOT!
Tell us about JBF The Woodlands & Conroe! How did you get involved and when did you begin the local chapter?
JBF The Woodlands is truly something magical. Hundreds of local moms price their children’s preloved items and drop it off for the THOUSANDS of local moms coming to catch a break on what their children need (and want – because they can! The prices are so low!). I walked into my first JBF sale when I was pregnant with my 7 year old! It was the coolest thing I had seen. I grew up with a mom that shopped at Goodwill for boutique items and then sell the on Ebay when we outgrew them… this was that, on steroids! I left the sale and went straight to my moms, with my bag FULL of goodies, sat down and showed her each item, exclaiming the amazing prices! I told her that day, “one day, I am going to run this sale!” I don’t think I truly believed I would, but it surely was a dream of mine! JBF was such a blessing to me for years, my husband was laid off from the oil field in 2016. I litereally don’t know what we would have done without JBF. In the Spring of 2021, right as our life was kind of calming down from having kids so close together, the previous owner was selling her territory, and that’s when I took over. This sale coming up next month will be my 2nd sale to host.

What did you do before starting your own business (or still do if you still work outside of JBF)? Have you always been entrepreneurial?
I have actually never been entrepreneurial… that part is probably still a struggle for me… but when I get passion about something, I am IN! And that’s how I am with JBF! I have been staying home with my kids the past 7 years and before that I was in business to business sales.
What has been the most rewarding thing about running JBF The Woodlands & Conroe?
The most rewarding part of JBF is always the impact it has on the community. Both for the sellers and the shoppers – it is life changing. Raising kids is so hard, and so expensive! Being able to have a break there is just so great! And the relationships! I just love the people I get to meet!
How do you balance owning your business and being a mama?
Balance just isn’t my thing! Insomnia is 🙂 I put the kids to bed at 7pm and work JBF until 1 or 2am. But, my amazing husband lets me sleep until 9am most days!
What are your future plans and dreams for JBF The Woodlands & Conroe? Any events coming up North Houston Mom can be on the lookout for?
My future plans and Dreams for JBF The Woodlands & Conroe is pretty simple, I just want to grow. I want to help more moms turn their kids stuff into cash, and more families to shop at these amazing prices!
