Meet a Mom: Morgan Andoe, Space Walk Northwest Houston - North Houston Moms

Meet Morgan Andoe, a wife and mama to 3 kiddos who lovingly call themselves the ‘Crazy Crew’. Morgan is a Career and Technology Coordinator by day and owner of Space Walk Inflatable Northwest Houston by evening & weekend! Morgan and her family started Space Walk Inflatables in 2021 after deciding they wanted to show their kids the ends and outs of entrepreneurship and running a business. The Andoe family loves bringing the FUN to the party and seeing the pure joy the inflatables bring to not only young kids, but older kids and adults, too! Space Walk Northwest Houston offers bounce houses, water slides, obstacle courses, and other inflatables to your home, local businesses, and/or schools.

Keep reading to check out Morgan’s #meetamom interview to learn more about Space Walk, the inspiration behind her business, how she balances it all, and, of course, local #momlife.

Where are you from originally and how long have you lived in the North Houston area?

I am originally from the Angleton area, and we have lived in the North Houston area for the last 5 years, specifically the Magnolia area.

How many kiddos do you have and how old are they?

My husband and I have 3 crazy kiddos, we lovingly call ourselves the Crazy Crew. We started off with our son Weston (13) who is living his best golf life. Then our middle one Baylee (6), who is our fun loving cheerleader. To round out the crew we finish with Blaire (1) who is the tiniest but mightiest little Andoe!

What are your favorite local things to do? (with kiddos or just for mom!)

We love all things local, and try to get out and about most weekends. We love starting off our weekends at the Tamina Farmers Market. Next you can usually find us outside stopping by some of our favorite parks to play and explore. The youngest Andoes are fans of the 7 Acre Woods petting zoo. The boys love to do indoor rock climbing, and challenge each other to see who can climb the fastest. We girls have been known to hit the nail salon for a relaxing pedicure to be pampered. We love local food truck parks, because everyone gets what they want!

As hard as it is to find the time, what’s something you do just for yourself?

Well I am like a lot of moms, “me time” is tough with three active kiddos, a full time job, and a small business. I have to admit I love to spend a couple hours cruising the Target aisles with a cup of coffee, and just doing a little retail therapy.

One thing people would be surprised to know about you…

I love cooking, like it’s my jam!! I love trying out new recipes. BUT… I am not the greatest baker. I cannot bake from scratch, my cakes, cookies, brownies all come from a box! HAHA!

What’s the best mom advice you have ever been given (or your own advice to mamas out there)?

My own advice would be to just take time to stop and really appreciate the life you have and make as many memories as you can, big and small. I have learned through the loss of my mom, brother, grandmother, and grandfather that time is precious and the memories we make together can last someone a lifetime.

Tell us about Space Walk Northwest Houston! When did you open your business and what do you offer?

We opened up our business in October 2021. We offer all types of bounce houses, water slides, obstacle courses, and other inflatables. We love helping bring extra fun to events at homes, businesses, and schools.

What was the inspiration behind starting an inflatable business?

So our main goal in starting this business is to really show our children all the ends and outs of entrepreneurship, and running a business. Businesses are a learning experience for the whole family, providing so many life lessons that will help guide them one day. Plus… mama wants a pool one day! HaHa!

What did you do before owning Space Walk Inflatables (or do you still work outside of Space Walk)?

So my husband and I both still work outside of Space Walk Inflatables. I am in the education field. I have been a Career and Technology teacher for the last 12 years, and 5 of them teaching virtually. Yes, I was teaching virtually before teaching virtually became a thing, haha! I have taught everything from Sports Marketing to Child Development. I have most recently stepped out of the classroom and I am now a Career and Technology Coordinator, and I help over 8,000 students with Industry Based Certifications in their CTE courses!

What has been the most rewarding thing about your work?

FUN! We love seeing the smiling faces waiting for the bounce house to finish inflating. The look of pure joy as they start to play. Not just the little kids either, we enjoy hearing about the adults having just as much fun as the little ones.

How do you balance owning your business and being Mama?

I wish I could magically say that owning a business and being a mama magically balance out, and all the stars align perfectly, but they don’t. I honestly think it takes an amazing partnership with our family. We all chip in and help out when and where it’s needed.

What are your future plans and dreams for Space Walk Northwest Houston?

We would love continuing to grow through the North Houston area. Right now we have been servicing a few businesses, homes, and schools. We just want to keep meeting more smiling faces, and bringing laughter to events big and small!
