Meet a Mom: Lacy Cardneaux, LC Stacks | North Houston Moms

Today’s Meet a Mom is Lacy Cardneaux – the bead stringin’ mama behind LC Stacks! I had the pleasure of meeting Lacy at a local event a few months ago when she had just begun her bracelet business. I bought a stack from Lacy and they are my go-to bracelets to this day! I love that you can wear them separately or design a whole stack to wear together. Lacy is inspired by color palettes and spends time hunting down unique and quality beads. I love following Lacy’s page and seeing the designs she puts together ❤. You can DM Lacy to order the bracelet stacks she shares or you can even work with her to design your own custom stack! Lacy started LC Stacks only 5 months ago and she wasn’t totally sure how her business would work out with 2 young kids, but she was determined and now she is BEYOND thrilled with the growth & success so far!

Check out Lacy’s #meetamom interview below to learn more about the inspiration behind her business, her design process, and how her business fits into her #momlife.

Where are you from originally and how long have you lived in the North Houston area?

I am from Houston! Born and raised! Traveled to Mississippi (college) met my husband and his job landed us in The Woodlands! We have lived here since 2012!

How many kiddos do you have and how old are they?

My oldest Ava Grace turns six next month! My youngest, Carson is a year and a half!

What are your favorite local things to do? (with kiddos or just for mom!)

If I am not stringing beads..you will find me in Tomball antique shopping, park hopping with friends for playdates, or at a resale shop! I love a good deal!

As hard as it is to find the time, what’s something you do just for yourself?

I try to carve time out for myself..but that is hard when you are pouring into your family 24/7. During this season, I really try to set time aside with my devotional or a Christian/parenting podcast.

One thing people would be surprised to know about you…

That I went to college 9 hours away and only came home on holiday breaks. I am such a homebody, it still surprises me ha!

What’s the best mom advice you have ever been given (or your own advice to mamas out there)?

It really is “just a season”… with each child I have realized more and more how the hard and easy moments are so fleeting! It really isn’t forever, and babies don’t keep.

Tell us about LC Stacks! When did you begin your business and what do you offer?

LC Stacks was something fun I started doing with some “free” time. LC Stacks is fun because most of my bracelets are buildable stacks and they all have some color/bead combination that goes with the other which makes it fun for stacking! I started LC Stacks in November 2021! I can’t believe it has already been 5 months!

Where did you learn to make bracelets? Have you always been creative / crafty?

My inspiration comes through color pallets I put together. As crazy as it sounds, I will even go into my closet and pull colors together with my clothes to help me come up with design color pallets for my stacks! I don’t consider myself crafty, but I have really enjoyed the designing process!

What sets your business apart from others out there like it?

I really try hard to hunt down beautiful beads and build stacks with great quality. I like that I might present a stack of 2 bracelets that go well together and create another bracelet a month later that ties into the stack making it a stack of 3!

What did you do before starting your own business (or still do if you still work outside of LC Stacks)? Have you always been entrepreneurial?

I graduated with a Bachelors in Early Childhood Education! I have been a Stay at Home Mom for the last (almost) six years. If I am not mommin’ I am stringing beads! Ha!

What has been the most rewarding thing about owning your own business?

It has been a huge blessing and I love that people I don’t even know are wearing something I created/designed! Right before I started to sell my bracelets and was in the “making” part of the design, I recall my daughter asking me “Mama what if nobody buys your bracelets?” It lit a fire under me, not because I was afraid to fail but I wanted to show my daughter she could do anything she put her mind to! Was it a fear? Yes. Did it all work out like I had envisioned? Beyond.

How do you balance owning your business and being a mama?

When I started LC Stacks I made an honest effort to have my small business come second to everything else. I do not want to miss a thing with my children, these are precious times! I love that I can pick up and walk away from my bead room as often as I need to. There are nights where I am in there beading away for hours and then three days will go by and I haven’t touched a bead. I try and fill/prioritize orders the best I can, but when it comes to beading and design..I try my best to do utilize the time during nap and bedtime!

What are your future plans and dreams for LC Stacks? Any deals, sales, or events North Houston Mom can be on the lookout for?

I haven’t really thought much about future plans? I take it one day/season at a time and pray for inspiration! I think the next step for LC Stacks is opening up an Etsy shop. I would love to attend a couple summer, fall pop up vendor events. I enjoy people coming up and asking me to help them come up with a buildable stack. It is my favorite!
