I’m so excited for you to meet the newest addition to our team, Kasey Norton. Kasey is no stranger to The Local Moms Network (TLMN), as she joins us from South Austin Moms. Fun story – Kasey and I were neighbors in Austin before my family moved back to North Houston. Our kids are like siblings and we are the closest colleagues you’ll ever meet! Here you’ll learn more about her, her family, her experience being part of TLMN and some of her favorite places.
Tell us a bit about yourself!
My husband Sean and I have two kiddos, Blakely (6) and Bowen (3). Also new to our family this past year is Dodger, our English Cream Golden Retriever. You’ll for sure see all of them on this page at some point!

What led you to join The Local Moms Network?
Literally my neighbor! Like Erin said, we were neighbors in Austin and it was so fun watching her grow South Austin Moms. I was obviously devastated when my BFF told me her family was moving back to The Woodlands area, but I was also so excited when she asked me if I had interest in taking over South Austin Moms. Flash forwards a year or so later and here I am in North Houston – back with my best friend and continuing the best job ever.
What do you enjoy most about TLMN?
I have a background in marketing and PR and have a passion for small businesses. I truly believe in supporting small businesses as much as possible – both here on North Houston Moms and in my own home. Seeing the heart and soul someone puts into their passion is so inspiring! And I also love being a mom. So not only do I get to meet incredible people and help small businesses in this role, I also get to help moms! I love that TLMN gives me the opportunity to find a bit of myself again post kids, while still getting to be a mom too. To me this site is like one big group text with your mom friends. Need a new pediatric dentist? Look here! Need a summer activity? Look here! Restaurant with a playground to burn off that kid energy? Look here! I love that.

Work with your best friend, duh! And also outsource. We can’t do it all – we weren’t meant to. I worked with a company in Austin that would come fold and organize your clean laundry – genius. No surprise the company was created by a mom. There is no shame in getting and accepting help. And there should be no shame or guilt from stepping away from things that “need” to get done. From the time my daughter gets home from school until about 5:30pm when we come in for dinner, we play out front with the neighbors. There may dishes in the sink from the day or toys on the floor, but that time out front is important to them, so everything inside can wait. Plus, they get all their energy out and the typical 5-7pm witching hour is a breeze….on most days – ha! And another added bonus, I love my neighbors – so it’s my chance to catch up with them too!

I love that this area is so family-friendly, there’s always so much to do! We love the abundance of incredible parks!! Every single one we go to is amazing – my kids are in heaven. We eat at Crust Pizza quite a bit (the buffalo chicken pizza on cauliflower crust is yum!), I enjoy a warm chai from Luv Coffee occasionally and love HeBrews – the new location is just dreamy.

Hmm…fun facts: I don’t have my ears pierced, never have. When my sweet tooth strikes, I’m going for sour candy or chocolate chip cookies. Our whole family loves Nascar – favorite driver is Ross Chastain.
