Meet a Mom: Erin Foreman of North Houston Moms | North Houston Moms

Meet the mama behind North Houston Moms, Erin Foreman! Read more about her new role, her family life, and some of her favorite things about North Houston!

Tell us about yourself!

Hi y’all! My name is Erin Foreman, and I just moved back to North Houston in April. Originally, I’m from Plano. I graduated from Texas A&M University after earning my teaching certificate. While I didn’t pursue teaching for very long, I absolutely love kids! I’m always down for a board game, chocolate, or a good book. I’m a crunchy, Jesus-loving mama of 3 wild little boys, who I’m blessed to stay home with. I also enjoy baking, exploring, watching movies, and being on the lake. I like to start my day with a big cup of coffee. I love meeting new people, catching up with friends, and spending time with the ones I love most.

Why did you move away from this area? What brought you back?

My husband and I originally moved to North Houston in 2015. We lived here until 2019 until my husband’s company transferred headquarters to Austin. While there, I was searching for part-time work that also allowed me to be with my kids as much as possible. I came across The Local Moms Network, and the opportunity to run South Austin Moms came about. I knew right then it was the perfect fit. I ran that platform for a year before my family got the opportunity to move “home” to North Houston. We are absolutely thrilled to be back!

Tell us about your family!

My husband’s name is Kevin and we have been married since 2015. We met and began dating in 2010 while each working toward our degrees at A&M. We have three sons: Foster is 6 years old, Beckett is 4 years old, and Cameron is 17 months old. We also have a cat named Sully and a Goldendoodle named Penny. Our hearts and our house are very full!

Why did you decide to take over this platform, continuing North Houston Moms and bringing The Local Moms Network to your town?

When we were discussing our move to North Houston, I was anxious about leaving behind the platform I had been running in South Austin. I loved my job and getting to work with local businesses was exciting and rewarding. When I found out that Audrey wanted to shift the platform over, all the pieces fell into place and everything worked out the way it was intended to. I’m so incredibly thankful!

What’s the best mom advice you have ever been given?

To trust your gut. It’s a small concept, but it takes a lot of faith in yourself and in God. Moms have this ability to know things about their children that others may not. I used to doubt myself, but now I’ve learned to trust that inner voice.

Place you love to get coffee:

After our neighbor introduced us to Summer Moon Coffee in Austin, it’s been hard for me to love anything else as much! However, the location in Conroe is about 20 minutes from me, so it hasn’t happened yet. Fortunately, I had the opportunity to try both Luv Coffee and HeBrews, and let me tell you – they do not disappoint! The atmosphere and the food in both locations are phenomenal.

Must-try restaurants in Montgomery County:

Conroe Lake House is one of our favorites, especially when it’s warm out. There’s a beachy area right by the lake where kids can swim and play in the sand. There’s a playground, it’s dog-friendly, has good food and drinks… I’m a fan! I’m also working on a blog post with all the restaurants across town that have playgrounds, because anytime I can go out to dinner and have a conversation with my husband or my family while the kids play, I’m there!

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?

My husband and I have a bucket list that includes Ireland, Barcelona, Hawaii, and several others. We love to travel, but don’t much because our kids are still little. When everyone’s grown, I hope we have that time to go explore!

Is there anything you want to say to our readers?

This opportunity to bring resources to our community is one that I am blessed to have. I’m so thankful for all of you and for this platform. Thank you for allowing me the chance to introduce myself. If you see me and my family around town, please come say hello!
